The Palm Beach Atlantic University men's basketball team took on NOVA Southeastern University in a Sunshine State Conference match on Wednesday.
PBA scored the first basket with a three-pointer from Bakari Warthen. The score would go back and forth throughout; the biggest lead being a meager nine points by NOVA in the first half and PBA in the second. The lead changed seven times, and tied six times.
With 27 seconds left in the second half, the score became tied 89-89 when a foul on Warthen gave NOVA the chance to take two shots. However, Warthen also incurred a technical foul, putting PBA down four points after the Sharks sunk all four free throws.
Forced to try to get the ball back, the Sailfish gave up another foul, and the game ended 95-89 in favor of NOVA.
Four of the 'Fish finished with points in double digits, as Dakota Zinser led with 23 points. Grant Gullet added 14, and Jules Jasmin along with Marshall Riddle each added 11.
The team is back in action Saturday at St. Leo University.
