Campus life post Hurricane Irma

September 14, 2017

Palm Beach Atlantic University is scheduled to reopen for classes on Monday after losing power for several days due to Hurricane Irma.

Today the school welcomed students and staff back to an almost ready campus. Besides some minor issues like disturbed landscaping, minimal leaks and a power outage, PBA is in good condition. Einstein Bros. Bagels, the Warren Library and the Fraser Dining Hall reopen tomorrow, but Chick-Fil-A will remain closed until Monday morning.

Associate V.P. for University Relations & Marketing Becky Peeling detailed several important facts students should know as they return to campus.

All dorms are set to open Friday at 12 p.m. Vehicles parked in the garage without a garage parking decal must be moved by Sunday evening now that activities are resuming as usual. Also, the cafeteria has a limited menu at this time due to various factors, but should be back to normal next week.

The council deans met today to work out a solution for the many days of missed classes; the verdict is pending.

"We will know more about missed classes by Monday," Peeling said.
