WPB, FL | Thursday, March 30th, 2017, the Norton Museum of Art College Committee will be hosting the first ever “College Night: Art After Dark”.
Made up of a team of six students, the College Committee has planned a night filled with music, poetry, crafts, and of course, art.
Kurt Burghardt, PBA junior and english major, is part of the committee and has played a big role in the planning of College Night: Art After Dark.
“I’m pretty ecstatic about College Night at the Norton. I feel like it’ll help connect students to a sanctuary of aesthetic discovery.”, said Burghardt.
From the start of the evening, guests will begin their quest around the museum with an electronic- based scavenger hunt to hidden clues in the artwork. After learning about the different pieces in the museum, guests are free to participate in one-minute portraits and DIY crafts such as dada art.
And while strolling through the galleries, guests can pick up a free cup of coffee provided by Subculture or even enjoy $2 tacos from Tacos Al Carbon.
Closing out the evening, partnered with Palm Beach Atlantic University student event planning team, Steering Committee, the College Committee presents the “Norton CoffeeHouse”, bringing in musicians and poets from PBA and Florida Atlantic University (FAU).
PBA Freshman and cinema-television major Tim DeMoss is playing in the coffeehouse.
“I’m really excited to share my love of music at the Norton.”, said DeMoss.
The Norton welcomes colleges students from all around Palm Beach County to come enjoy this evening of fun and creativity.
“Personally, I love the Norton and seeing it taken over by college student just brings me intense joy.”, said Burghardt. “Honestly, I’m really looking forward to free coffee.”
College Night: Art After Dark begins at 5PM and ends at 9PM, bring your friends and enjoy!
