With so many products at the drugstore, it can be tricky to navigate between the good and the bad. While there are many incredible products on drugstore shelves, there are a few I’ve tried recently from my go-to brands that disappointed me.
Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette
Drugstore eyeshadow formulas have always been hit-or-miss for me. While I loved the colors in this Maybelline palette, the formula was a major miss. The shadows lacked pigment and blendability, causing my eyes to look like a dry, chalky mess after I applied them. Instead of buying an eyeshadow palette from the drugstore, I recommend trying out a variety of single shadows from different drugstore brands to find a formula that works for you.
L’Oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator
When it comes to drugstore highlighters, this L’Oreal illuminating powder doesn’t match the competition. Rather than highlight, this product just looked like a white glittery powder across my cheeks. Despite trying it out numerous times with different makeup looks, I couldn't make this powder work for me. A good highlighter should leave the skin looking dewy and illuminated, and this product didn’t make the cut.
NYX HD Photogenic Concealer
NYX is one of the best drugstore brands out there, so I was disappointed when this concealer didn’t work for me. The formula is lightweight, but the coverage is sheer and the concealer dries out and fades throughout the day. In my opinion, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is a much better drugstore find.
