Palm Beach Dramaworks is the local spot for live theatre. They show classic, contemporary and overlooked plays that, according to an organization publication, are exclusive to PBD.
The organization's publication said they are the only professional, non-profit live theatre in West Palm.
Palm Beach Dramaworks has been committed to enhancing the quality of life through the altering power of live, contemporary theatre.
The organization's publication said it has met three goals since its establishment in 2000, including producing high quality regional theatre welcoming to the local community, helping playwrights cultivate new work and educating the next generation of theatregoers.
As PBD grows, it has come to receive local and national recognition. According to Palm Beach Culture, in March the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County awarded PBD with the Muse Award for Outstanding Major Arts & Cultural Organization. The organization also received five Carbonell Awards, which are South Florida arts and drama honors.
Located on Clematis Street, it offers students and the community access to professional shows at lower costs. Student tickets start at $10 with the presence of a student ID. During the month of November PBD will show The Night of the Iguana by Tennessee Williams.
