Trick or treating will take a different turn as PBA Department of Athletics hosts their third annual Trunk or Treat event.
The Rinker Athletic Complex parking lot will fill with decorated cars ready to hand out treats for kids and families.
The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by a PBA Men's Soccer game against Saint Leo University.
Students on the sports teams and other campus groups are taking the initiative to arrive early and set up.
Women's soccer player Dominique Barber said her team will decorate their cars and pass out candy.
The event is making an impact in the community beyond the candy and Halloween decor.
"Last year PBA received the NCAA Division II Award of Excellence because of our work with Trunk-or-Treat", said Courtney E. Lovely, Senior Associate for Internal Operations.
Lovely said the idea behind Trunk or Treat is to create a safe environment and an alternative to Halloween for the kids in the Parker Avenue Consortium.
Workship opportunities are available for those who would like to lend a hand before or after the event. The Volunteers should wear a Workship t-shirt, closed-toed shoes and long shorts or pants.
